If we are all going to survive, let along thrive, we need bamboo. Think of bamboo as food. What kind of food? The good, healthy stuff that helps us grow.
Think of bamboo as like minded people, as positive conversations.
It's not enough to just have a few of these around us. We need corridors of bamboo. We need our personal islands to be connected together by long tracts of bamboo.
We need each other.
Blogging creates these corridors for us to move along, to find each other. For our ideas and hearts to come together. For new possibilities to flourish. There has never been a time in history when we have so needed to communicate collectively, effectively. To find new solutions and co-ordinate ancient ones.
So each time you create a blog post, you are inviting others to move along that corridor, nibbling on the tender shoots or tough stalks you present. You are inviting them to find you and, perhaps better than bamboo, break bread together.
Everything great in life is a food metaphor.
That's why one ultimate expression of all this is the
Slow Food movement. Making it happen in the real world. What an inspiring social enterprise that is!
