Authentic Social Media

I think, you think, we create (better) together

When we first started Authentic Blogging, we wanted to give our clients / students / colleagues and others a chance to talk amongst themselves. Blogs are great at starting conversations, but it puts the blogger at the centre.

With this wonderful Ning! social network, you can start your own discussions, explore your own ideas and themes in community. Help each other solve technical and human questions and go beyond what you thought was possible.

You might even end up starting one yourself! This is also a chance for you to experience social media, beyond blogging. You may recognise some similarities with Facebook or Myspace.

Of course, there is no substitute for face-to-face, human contact, and we are great advocates of online / real life balance - rest assured. This will be a theme we come back to again and again.

As you play and explore, you will see this is much more than just a forum. You can upload and share all sorts of stuff to spark your conversations and create new meanings and possibilities. Like this!

So this forum has been designed to capture conversations between people we meet along the blogging path. People who are blogging or just want to know more. People in organisations and people who blog for themselves. People who blog with words, images, videos, slides - whatever your medium. There are many different kinds of bloggers and different reasons to blog, just as there are reasons to write or communicate anything.

Three types of bloggers we want to pay special attention to here:

1. Third Sector / Social Enterprise bloggers

Whether you are just starting out or some way down the track, this is the place for you. What are your stories? Your questions? Your ideas?

We are particularly keen to know what your training and consultancy needs are, and to support you with affordable packages to make the most of the beautiful big blogging revolution.

Join the group within Authentic Blogging here.

2. Small, Micro, Medium Enterprise

Thinking about using a blog as an affordable website? Wanting to explore other ways of using blogs? Bring your colleagues together and talk about it here. We will be regularly adding new materials to help you along the learning journey.

3. Blogging for learning

For us, learning is as much about human becoming as it is for acquiring skills and knowledge. Blogging gives us all a chance to explore ideas and identity, to reflect and share dialogue with others. To experiment with who we are and what we know. To come up with new, shared possibilities. Alone and together. Quite simply, blogging helps us learn. If you wish to explore these themes at all, then this is also definitely your place. Blogging for Learning has implications for human resource professionals, management and creative teams wanting to capture and develop intellectual property... for social enterprises wanting to encourage clients towards more expansive horizons.... what else will we uncover?
